recommendations for things to do as a homeschooled teenager with way too much freetime and zero friends

I'm 17 and just transferred to a self-paced online school for my junior year. I don't have friends, and my parents are pretty busy but are starting to losen up on strictness. I just moved to Houston about six months ago and I wanna join a community or do something or find somewhere to make friends but usually there's age restrictions and such.

I enjoy anime, writing, DND, cosplay, larping, general nerd stuff, also LGBT. Does anyone have any recommendations of things to do related to that? Going crazy bored sitting at work all day.
