Ravens Game Takeaways – Negatives
Let’s start off that the negatives – Conservative playcalling early ( we sacrifice the first couple of drives every game by going vanilla. Lotta run-run-pass) – Deshaun / Martin picking up blitzes/ right side of the Line. In the run game Fulton and Tytus were letting us down and in pass pro we couldn’t ID the blitz whatsoever – LET DESHAUN COOK ( call more passing plays on early downs so teams can’t pin their ears back/ blitz us into oblivion, and use more 6 man protections when trying to go deep ) – Run more Spread/ Empty Sets We ran a lot of bunch to stop them from manning up our receivers and to get quicker routes off, but the inverse of that was that it was much easier to disguise blitzes against us. Moving in the Future I’d like to see us spread defenses out so DBs can’t blitz us as much , and so that it’s easier to ID those calls. – Run Defense We had a better showing at times defending the run, but too many times we gave up 3rd and shorts and 4th/1s to the Ravens which coincides with the next point – 3rd down D While we got some key stops in the game, we had a few breakdowns on 3rd and 4th that you just can’t have – Brennan Scarlett Bro can you plz learn how to set an edge dude. They literally ran at him the entire time he was in the game because he would sink too far in to defend the run leaving an outside cut for a wide open first ( or in 2 cases touchdown )
