Random weekend in Houston from Canada

My (F30) fiance (M34) and I have decided to take random 5 day trips…. we were thinking of Houston and area March 10-15. What's a must see? What are the good local bars/pubs? Best local food etc. We are from Calgary, Alberta Canada and are land locked so we would probably go check out the ocean one day.
