Quick rec for foodie?

I’ve been suddenly tasked with picking a restaurant for a teenage boys birthday who considers himself a chef and a foodie.

I can make s**t up all day but if there’s anything around west side/Alief/hwy 6 that counts as a hidden gem hit me with it, pretty please. Otherwise it’s just me and Google.

Don’t care what type or what price as long as it’s interesting. He’s going to hate it anyway since I picked it.
