question about water quality

i pulled up here a week ago and i stayed in an airbnb for the week and left covered in urticaria/ like a ant bite rash all over, they also call it water rash, but is the water quality lesser here than other texan cities? in another airbnb I had this week, when I turned on the kitchen sink, the water smelt like gas.
