Question about hospital bill

My gf was in the hospital for a week for a spinal nerve surgery, then she had to go back because, one of the nerves was pinched for another 3 days. Her bill came out to be over $250,000+. She didn’t qualify for the gold card because she makes $30 over the minimum. Has no insurance. Is there any way to get this reduced? 250K+ is a house payment! What are the options she has? Hospital is memorial Herman.
