Question about commuting by bus from Memorial Park area to downtown (METRO 85)

I'll be working in Houston for a summer internship and am wondering how convenient/reliable it is to commute by METRO bus (I think the 85?) from where I'll be staying near Memorial Park.

Would appreciate any thoughts/input from folks who regularly commute on the 85 or are more familiar with the METRO system – is the bus commute worth it over driving into downtown and paying for parking? I'll have to walk less than a half mile to and from the bus stop to get to work (Google Maps estimates 30 minutes round trip vs. a ~15 minute drive)
