QB options outside the draft for 2022

Considering how the rookie QB class of 2022 is looking exceptionally weak, with a high chance that Corral goes to a team like the Lions. It won't hurt for Caserio to look at options that are currently in the league.

  1. Stick with Tyrod: While he has shown that he had plenty of juice left, his injury history is getting concerning as he went from the guy who got unlucky injuries to the random hamstring which can strike at anytime (looking at you Fuller). While keeping him on the team is a must, dedicating him as the starter is a risking proposition.
  2. Aaron Rodgers: Nothing goes together like vaccine hesitancy and the state of Texas. While it seems likely that the Broncos would make a move for him as that franchise is utterly incapable of developing at the quarterback position, if Denver doesn't want a massive fallout from bring on a guy like Rodgers perhaps Houston could use him for a few years.
  3. Tyler Huntley: Of all the backup quarterbacks to play in the preseason, Huntley appears to be the most starter ready of them all. If the Texans like what Tyrod does but wants a younger version of that who is more athletic, then Huntley is the guy. With ZERO chance of every supplanting Lamar Jackson and being on a one year contract with Baltimore, the possibility that he jumps to a team where he has a chance to start combined that he will be relatively cheap makes him an interesting option
  4. Mike White: For all the fans wondering what the Texans were hoping to get out of Davis Mills, look no further than the New York meme man himself. While he doesn't have the biggest arm and lacks superior mobility, his accuracy, pocket presence, ability to read and manipulate opposing defenses with his eyes and put the ball in the right place is very advanced for a late round guy who came off the bench and wasn't expected to do anything. While he isn't going to throw 75 yard bombs downfield, his ability to dink and dunk his way downfield is one of the more underrated skills for a quarterback to have (even if Brady has done the same thing for 20 years). Out of all the quarterbacks out there this one is the most fit to guys Caserio has drafted while in New England. Combined with Kelly's New England style offense White would actually make sense for the Texans (provided he stays healthy and still produces while Wilson is on IR). Current contract with the Jets is similar to Huntley with the combined bonus of a QB controversy if he continues to produce and Wilson does not.
  5. Davis Mills: Just no.
