Cherry Eye on a Puppy; need advice

I have a 8 months old puppy that recently grew a cherry eye this weekend. I’ve been trying to find a vet to get it fixed. One said it can be removed but she would need lifetime eye drops. I did not like the sound of that. I would prefer to save the gland with an affordable estimate. If you have any recommendations, please let me know. She’s scheduled for a consultation with her vet this week but would want to save his eye gland. Located in Houston TX
