Public Transportation to Galveston?

Is there any public transportation to Galveston or a cheap shuttle?

I found this island express from metro but one article states it ended service in 2018. Also it's weekdays only.

I've found several references to an Amtrak bus that's 1:15 to 2:45 daily but I can't find anything about it on the Amtrak.
