PSA: Houston does NOT have the infrastructure for freezing weather

So many posts today and yesterday on this sub from people used to the snow thinking we are overreacting. We are not. The Midwest and north of the country are so used to the snow. Those cities were built for the cold weather. Houston wasn’t. Stop comparing cities. We are not being silly. You might lose power and water. So, plan accordingly.

Do not drive unless you have to, and be prepared to see accidents, just make sure you’re not close to them skidding cars. Edit: i meant if there is ice on the roads

God speed.

Oh, mods, can we have a freeze mega thread? Posts are starting to get redundant and I’m sure tomorrow will be worse

Edit: everyone calm down. I’m not telling you to panic. You have to be mentally prepared that you might lose power and water. This isn’t the end of the world. Wrap your pipes and cover your plants
