Pros/cons living in Meridiana

Our family is thinking about buying a house in Meridana towards Manvel/Iowa Colony. The HOA there seems to range between $1300 to $1700 a year and wanted to see if it’s worth it. How’s the community, amenities, and schools? Any flood concerns?
