Progress on Pedestrian refuge at Washington Ave and Patterson St in Rice Military?

About 3 years ago it was announced they were putting in a protected pedestrian and cycle refuge on Washington and Patterson.

Patterson is a pretty key street people take to get from White Oak Bayou to Buffalo Bayou, but crossing Washington is a concern.

Anyone know where progress is on that? It's taking forever and just crossed this morning and it was so rough and forgot this was planned.

I'm not super optimistic with our new boomer mayor who doesn't walk or cycle anywhere, but am hoping its already priced in / work will start soon.
