Prodigal Son House legit?

My boyfriend and I were approached at Mia's Table in the Woodlands by people saying they're from the Prodigal Son House for recovering addicts, and they were selling banana nut bread. I remember they used to go around Baytown doing that several years ago when I lived there. Does anyone know if it's a scam, or a legitimate organization?
