Prep for potential rolling blackouts Monday and Tuesday
Abbot held a press conference with Deanne Walker of the PUC and Bill Mangus of ERCOT. For those of you unaware, they are responsible for keeping the lights on. The just of what they said was demand for electricity is projected to exceed what current generators are able to produce. When that happens, ERCOT will implement rolling blackouts across the state to ease the demand for electricity.
THINGS YOU CAN DO: – close your blinds and put towels around drafty doors and windows to help keep heat in – unplug unnecessary appliances – avoid using large household appliances like washers, dryers and dishwashers during the morning and evening – set your thermostat to a lower temperature or turn it off when you are away
