Preet Hotel 290 @ Beltway 8 – How is this place still open when I haven’t seen a car parked upfront in 20 years?

I remember this hotel when it was a Holiday Inn. In the mid-90s, a friend used to have a table at the local comic and trading card shows that used to make the rounds around town and we would go to show some support. Fast forward a couple years later and my girlfriend that lived in the area would refuse to meet me there because she said it had a reputation as a swingers hotel. Then it became Preet Hotel around the same time they were expanding 290 and it became a ghost town. I thought it was abandoned until I drove by recently and there was activity at the front entrance. Anyone have the scoop?
