Predatory towing is 100% legal in Houston so be careful where you park

So I had a towing hearing today and lost my case. The judge explained that towing companies in Houston are allowed to be waiting for you to park anywhere and can take your vehicle no matter if there are signs or not anywhere. My issue was I parked at a friend's apartment complex in an area where it says 'visitors' for less than 7 minutes as I brought him a birthday gift. Apparently the towing company didn't recognize my car and immediately impounded my vehicle. 300 dollars later I got my car back and took them to a justice of the peace court with pictures showing where my car was with a clear sign that that parking is assigned for visitors and no sign of towing anywhere around it. The towing company said they have an agreement with the apartment complex that they can tow anywhere in the property even if there are no signs around it and the judge ruled in their favor. I paid the court fees and wasted my time. So don't waste yours. Just understand that the towing companies will win unless they dont show up. Also, the court allows them to attend the court through zoom even if you do it in person. The clerk seemed to know the person on the towing company personally. Lesson here is, towing companies are waiting to tow any car around the city and it is 100% legal and there is nothing anyone can do about it. So watch where you park your car even for seven minutes.
