Pre-Season Campfire Chat Thread Part II (Yes we have rules that we enforce)
Yes we ban here. If you are aggressively arguing with someone, using hostile language, insulting others, you can be banned. Doesn't matter if "the other person started it". Just hit the report button under their comment and a mod will see it. You don't have to answer every person that replies to you, it's perfectly respectful to leave an asshat on read.
Even though there are some emotionally charged situations surrounding the Texans right now, if you cannot have a sane conversation about them with others, please limit your comments on the subject.
It's great to have football back again! Personally, I apologize for being busy and not having the time to devote here that it probably needs. Even though I do not comment that much, I am still working on the back side handling reports, answering modmail, and others issues.
A couple of tips for anyone who might not know:
Mean or spiteful comments will be removed and bans will be issued for severe infractions. This includes (but is not limited to):
- Insincerity or dishonesty
- Racist, Sexist, Homophobic and all other forms of Identity-based inconsiderate speech
- Trolling, Brigading, Flooding, Doxxing, Excessive profanity
- Asking loaded questions and/or using loaded language
- Excessive large, bold, or spaced-out text
All users are expected to abide by reddiquette
In particular avoid:
- Requesting votes in any way
- Posting solely content from your own sites/domains
- Engage in a flame war (even if "he started it")
- Political speech (Politics should rarely if ever reference an individual and stay objective about impacts of policies or proposed policies)
- Soapboxing
- Charged political discussion
- Moralizing issues
- Baiting politics.
