Power options – which contract length?

Maybe this is new but I’ve typically gone with the 12 month contracts. I’m seeing cheaper 3 month contracts on powertochoose (10c instead of 13+c per kwh). Is there a downside to the shorter contracts, or any recommendations on contract type?
