Potentially was about to be robbed / kidnapped at Houston Premium Outlets.

I’d appreciate any input, still not sure what to make of this situation.

Just finished a day of shopping at the outlets, by the time we were leaving, of course parking is a maze and it is especially terrible during Christmas season, long lines of cars and seemingly no parking.

For context, I’m a male and was there with a female friend who’s on the more petite side, we are both late twenties, but do look on the younger side.

We were walking to our spot and it was a short walk from the outlets, we could see our cars, and all of a sudden this guy pulls up asking if we are about to leave. Relatively normal, I thought. I told him yes, pointed to our cars (he didn’t look) and that we were about to make 2 spots available if he wants to follow us in feel free, it will be a few mins but they’ll be open. One thing I thought was odd was he had both of his passenger side windows rolled down (we were on that side) – in the back, driver side was what I assume to be his young daughter in a car seat.

He then asked if we wanted a ride to our spot. I told him no, we are good, we’re literally right there (pointed again, he didn’t look). Feel free to follow us and take the spot. He asked another time if we wanted a ride and again we rejected it + started walking in front of his car across the road, also seemed like he moved up a little bit not even expecting us to cross.

We made it to the cars & were searching for a nearby restaurant. I never noticed him even attempt to turn into the parking area we were in. I wasn’t being extra vigilant at that point but he definitely wasn’t hanging around and said nothing like “oh great, thanks, where are you at again?” when we were offering the spot earlier + basically asked us to hop in, twice.

I thought it was weird at the moment but the more I thought about it the more it seemed potentially nefarious, you’d assume it would be easy to escape a car in slow moving traffic but child lock & window locks exist. The man looked 40s-50s, Hispanic man with a medium/heavy build. The young girl in the car seat looked to be about 5-6 if I had to guess. My thought is he had both those windows rolled down with a child inside to try to establish trust.

Anyway, we made it out but I thought it was odd – even if it was innocent.

Please tell me what y’all think! Looking for additional input.
