Possible relocation to Houston area

Hoping to get some insight here.. my family and I are considering relocating from northern New Jersey to the Houston area. We are a two mom family with four young children. I’d love some feedback and info regarding how the political climate may feel to us on a daily basis, what the weather is actually like year round, education- specifically public, healthcare- including services for a child with autism; and generally how friendly the area and people are to newcomers. We are looking for lower taxes, lower cost of living, more space, warmer climate and hopefully our forever home and community. Thank you all!
