Portable generator recommendation?

Hi Houston, I’m new to the city and have noticed lots of power outages due to recent thunderstorms, so I’m considering buying a portable generator. I’m a complete newbie to this so I’m wondering if folks have recommendations on the below:

1. What brand of generator should I get?
2. What type of electrical installation do I need to do in order to hook up the generator to the house?
