Portable AC vs Houston Humidity

I have a mini-spilt AC in an office space that used to be a garage. It's dead and I am wondering if a portable AC is a good alternative to spending like $6K to replace the mini split.

With Houston humidity, is the area outside where the AC vents going to just be awful with condensation? I'm looking at units that are supposed to need little draining because they turn the water into mist and release it outside.

Good idea or swampy disaster waiting to happen?
