Joel Bines co-leads the global retail practice at the consulting firm AlixPartners. He’s written a book, “The Metail Economy,” about the radical power shift that he says has occurred between businesses and their customers. In the book, Bines discusses how connecting with customers now will often require a complete rethinking by retailers.
