Play ball! Major League Baseball, players union announce agreement

The lockout that extended Major League Baseball’s offseason is over.

The league and players reached an agreement March 10 that will allow spring training to start now and the regular season to begin on April 7, MLB.com reports. Both sides still must ratify the agreement.

The disagreement already shaved two weeks off the 2022 schedule. On March 9, Major League Baseball announced that it would push back Opening Day to April 14 unless an agreement could be reached.
