Pitching Wins Championships

Why does everyone want us to pass on resigning JV? He is a true ace. Legendary. HOF’er.

Yes we need first base and centerfield help. Yes Verlander could get hurt. Yes we have an abundance of pitching.

Remember, just because Hunter Brown looks like JV, he is a rookie and could pitch like one. Framber could get hurt. Lance McCullers jr. will get hurt at some point. WHEN we sign Brantley, he will get hurt.

My point is, as tried and true as Apple Pie and America goes, so does Pitching and Championships.

Look at the Works Series against the Washing to. Nationals. They trotted out two pitchers (strassburg and Scherzer) and almost single handidly beat us.

My point is, so many want us to pass on JV. If we can keep him then we absolutely should. He’s unbelievable. Yes he’s not been good in the playoffs but he’s still usable. And as a cy young for this year (most likely) we would be nuts not to have him back.

And we still have plenty of room for improvements in the hitting department.
