Pining for Bregman

We know Crane is unlikely to match the contract that Bregman can command in free agency. So instead of twiddling our thumbs and sitting around, let’s do something about it.

Here’s the plan. Buy every can of Wild Sol you can get your hands on. If Bregman realizes that there are material monetary benefits attached to remaining in Houston (not just the love that we fans shower him with), we could bridge the gap between what Crane is willing to pay and what the open market can offer him. At $7.50/can or $30 for a pack of four, we just need to buy ~3MM units or 750K packs to add the difference in cash to Breggy’s wallet on an annual basis. Now that may sound like a lot, but that’s just 1 can for every ~2 Houstonians or one pack for every 8-9 Houstonians (in the greater Houston area). Obviously not everyone is going to participate, and we never know what other teams are willing to pay for Bregman, but maybe if we can get it close, Bregman will realize how much he means to this city! Not to mention, I’m sure Bregman knows he won’t be playing baseball forever. But if he can create a salsa empire in the Lone Start State, the lifetime earnings could be worth WAY more than what moneybag Dodgers or Yankees can offer him.
