I love Estate Sales for many reasons, one being that you get to go into someone's home and really get a sense of how someone lived and I just find it incredibly fascinating. Recently I had the privilege of getting a glimpse into the home of an especially inspiring Houston woman I had never known about until stumbling into her estate sale and getting blown away by her magic. Her beautiful 3 story home was a testimony to incredible passion, intelligence, love and hard work! I left feeling so appreciative of this woman i will never know, yet she inspired me so much! Her huge and beautiful home was a monument to her passions and joys. Her library suggested years and years of study in her craft and dedication to her passion and her ability to live an amazing life while helping many others do well– all of her impressive collections showed that she took deep joy in celebrating the success of others. Ever since i left her home I keep sharing her obituary and bio with others because i just want others to know that this cool lady existed in my city and did such cool stuff bc i really fell in love with her from the little time i got to spend seeing her home! I know i only got a glimpse of her, and I am sure there is much more to her story, and that maybe some of you even had the privilege of knowing her and enjoying her in person— but i had to share the love she inspired in me from the little glimpse i managed to get from her home and my subsequent enjoyable google searches! What a bad ass! Here is her obituary, but i highly suggest some googling if you have any aligned interests with her line of work– i have worked in children's education so witnessing her success is especially meaningful to me!
