Petland Bellaire Protest

The City of Houston, where Petland Bellaire is located, passed a humane pet store ordinance requiring that all dogs and cats for sale be sourced from humane organizations or shelters. All stores had a year to prepare for the law to go into effect in January 2023.

Months later, Petland Bellaire continues to sell puppies they obtain from commercial breeding facilities. Instead of following the law, they pay the repeated citations that BARC issues.

Anyone who cares about pets and our city’s animal welfare challenges is encouraged to sign a petition and participate in this peaceful protest Sat, Sept 16 at 10 am on the public sidewalk in front of Petland Bellaire, 6429 Westheimer Rd (near Voss/Hillcroft) to let Petland Bellaire know that we expect them to comply with the law!
