Personal items stolen from rental car

Hello all, I’ve had a pretty rough day today and I just wanted to see if anyone can help me out. I went to finalize my sublet apt and the girl bailed on me when she owe me $700. Then I found out someone broke into my rental car and took all of my luggage, which included my purse, my kindle, all of my makeup, skincare products, and some of my clothes that I bought while I was working. I’m so devastated and since I don’t live in that apt I didn’t have renters insurance, car rental insurance wouldn’t cover anything either. I did file a police report but I don’t think they can do anything, my current apt key was also taken from the car as well 🥲 I’ve never had anything like that happened to me while I was living there (med center) and it was inside of a fully enclosed garage and I’m so lost and feel so hopeless.
