Paxlovid but no Primary Care
Hi all ~ I am trying to assist my friend who lives in Houston and has COVID with fairly significant symptoms (high fever, etc). Unfortunately my friend does not have a primary provider. We tried to the CVS screener but it said they were disqualified. This was confusing because they have symptoms, and meet more than one of the criteria listed here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/clinical-care/underlyingconditions.html
I live in MA, and am not familiar with the Texas healthcare landscape, but am trying to help my friend.
Can anyone advice me one in Houston gets a Paxlovid prescription if they don't have a primary care dr? A way that doesn't require "passing" the screener from CVS. I think we need my friend to be able to talk to a real dr or pharmacist so they can explain their situation, as we don't know why the form denied them.
Thanks so much for any help you can offer!
