Patchy Lawn Remedy?

Hey Houston!

Recently moved to Houston and having issues with my back yard lawn. It’s really patchy in certain areas and it’s possibly common as I am reading other peoples posts here. Due to the heat or possibly me over watering it. Is there anything else I can help bring it back to life?

I am not sure kind of grass I have either. I also have a irrigation system which water in the morning and at night. I learned from a recent post on here that I should not water at night so have moved the time frame from 9pm to 7pm (so it can dry)

Any tips would be great to make it green again. Thank you in advance!
