Parks in Houston That are like East Texas

Hi I was wondering if there are any parks in the houston area that have a lot of trees and are safe to walk in daylight… I am from east texas and miss my home so much I love the trees we have here and wish there was somewhere in houston that wasnt just marsh like memorial park… Anyone know?
