Houston, TX: 22 Reasons why Houston is Superior than Dallas

For all the Houston haters that keep on annoying me everytime saying “but Houston is ghetto” or “Dallas has a nicer skyline”. The two statements is so wrong and old school and proves you have never been to Houston. But here is 20 other reasons why Dallas can never be better than the Texas giant city🥰 Yall can keep dreaming that you are better knowing deep in you its not true LOL!

  1. We have less homelessness behind Austin, San Antonio and Dallas (exactly in that order). Houston Metro ranks 4th in homelessness from Texas’ four largest cities per capita per 10,000 residents. In fact, Houston has reduced its homeless problem thanks to local government policies such as affordable housing programs for low income families.

  2. We are not only the most diverse city in Texas. But we have been named in the past three years as the most culturally diverse city in the entire country. Houston is home to the nation’s third largest concentration of consular offices representing 86 nations.

  3. We have better education, upper level education universities and more recognizable than any Dallas school. We have University of Houston and Rice, also known as an Ivy League level school, the only one in the South that is not in New England. I have never heard someone say “I want to go to SMU!”

  4. Houston is home to the world’s Texas Medical Center the world’s largest medical center/campus of research and healthcare institutions. As a non-profit organization, the Texas Medical Center is comprised of 49 member health care organizations focused upon improving patient and preventative care, education, research, and local, national, and global public health and wellness. The Texas Medical Center employs one of the very largest health care workforces, numbering over 73,600 individuals. As a leader in the industry, Houston ranks 1 in the healthcare sector in the US. Houston is home to the world’s best medical schools, cancer care clinics, psychiatric treatment centers, air emergency services, and long term acute care providers in the U.S.

  5. Houston Spaceport – amazing project. A major one for the world. We once again reclaim Space City

  6. Houston is only 45 minutes to the coast! We are not landlocked and have access to some lakes and the beach. For tropical plants lovers: Houston can grow palm trees and other tropical vegetation thanks to our climate. Dallas can’t and has to use fake ones for “appeals” (Look at Galleria Dallas mall as an example, fake palms everywhere).

7. Only Texan city with a Chinatown, Little India and a Midtown district which contains a large concentration of some of the best nightlife that Texas has to offer. Again, diversity!

  1. Greenest big city in the US and The Energy Capital of the World.

8a. According to the Houston government, the City of Houston is the nation’s largest municipal user of renewable energy in the US with renewable energy five years ahead of schedule. The Houston region is one of the fastest growing regions for solar in the country.

8b. Out of the 10 most populous U.S. cities, Houston has the most total area of parks and green space, 56,405 acres (228 km2). The city also has over 200 additional green spaces—totaling over 19,600 acres (79 km2) that are managed by the city

  1. Houston has a way larger and taller skyline. In fact, Houston carries the title for having the nation’s 4th largest skyline in the US after NYC, Chicago and Miami. We have 7 out of the 10 tallest skyscrapers in Texas. Houston is known for having “multiple skylines” Downtown, Uptown, Greenway/Upper Kirby and Medical Center are the most known. Where does Dallas rank? Dallas ranks 8, just behind Seattle.

  2. Houston remains the Energy Capital of the World. Big money is moved here in both oil and gas industry.

  3. Houston is one of the only 5 U.S. cities with resident companies in all major arts and disciplines including theater, ballet, symphony and opera, with exciting performances all season long. The 17-block Theater District is home to nine world-class performing arts organizations with more than 12,000 seats. Only New York City has more seats concentrated in one geographic area.

The other four cities in the US are: 1. New York 2. Chicago 3. San Francisco 4. Boston

11a. Houston Grand Opera is the only opera company in the world to win a Tony, two Grammy and two Emmy Awards. The New York Times calls the Houston Grand Opera “the jewel in the cultural crown.”

  1. Houston also shows its devotion to the arts through a full complement of art museums and critically acclaimed galleries. Houston’s Museum District offers a range of museums, galleries, and art and cultural institutions, including the City’s major museums. Approximately 4 million people visit institutions in the Museum District every year. The Houston Museum District is one of the largest museum campuses in the country. It includes 20 institutions within walking distance of one another.

  2. We have some of the best parks in the US and the nation. Houston is home to 337 parks and Hermann Park was ranked #3 best park in the US.

  3. Bigger, more diverse and world class food. Houston cuisine has been classified as the best in Texas by multiple sources.

  4. Houston conducted the largest major league sports stadium build-up in the U.S with grand arenas. In the sports industry, Houston is home to the Rockets (NBL), Astros (MLBA), Texans (NFL), Dynamo (Soccer) are some of the most renowned sports team in the nation.

  5. Houston Livestock and Show Rodeo

  6. Update on which city giant carries the higher number of 500 Fortune companies headquarters In Houston metro: 24 (Ranking 3rd in the nation) (Houston.org updated June 6, 2021) In DFW metro: 22 (Ranking 4th in the nation) (Dallas News updated June 2, 2021)

  7. To me? More exciting projects underway, The Allen, Land Bridge Memorial Park, Autry Park Urban Village, Spaceport Houston at Ellington Airport, the world’s first commercial spaceport, the Buffalo Bayou and Hermann Park remastered plans and more.

  8. We are home to The Galleria: Texas largest shopping mall, popular for its upscale dining and shops. The 7 largest in the nation, and part of the “10 Most Valuable Malls in America,” the only mall from Texas in this category.

  9. Better, wider roads and freeways. Dallas was ranked #1 most dangerous city to drive in America.

  10. Before anyone comes up with the misinformed “dAlLAs iS mOrE uPsCaLe tHaN hOuStoN”

Oh please, Houston has more upscale neighborhoods than both Dallas and Austin combined. Piney Point Village, River Oaks, West University, Uptown’s Post Oak, Greater Memorial, just to name a couple.

22. Needless to say, we are projected to become the nation’s 3rd largest city. Population in Chicago has been declining for the past 7 years or so whereas Houston has steadily been increasing.

But go off if you think you can compete with that🤷🏽‍♂️yall can always stay second, no worries🤷🏽‍♂️nobody remembers second place but yeah😭 Sorry, I don’t make the rules.
