Package stuck in North Houston Distribution Center- Anyone else?

So, my grandmother sent me a package from Germany and it moved smoothly through customs and all until it arrived at the North Houston Distribution Center on August 25. According to the tracking history, it left departed that facility the same day and has been "in transit to next facility" since. I live in Houston so it should take that long. My local post office was very unfriendly when I inquired there in person and says that I need to go home and wait until it arrives. Is this normal and is anyone else experiencing such long transits within Houston?

I just placed a missing mail report and hope that something happens. I'm worried that it got lost somehow as it has never taken more than a day or two for international packages to be delivered to our address once they have arrived in Houston.
