Overdue DDC

Not sure how to explain but a while back I received a speeding ticket and opted to do Defensive Driving Classes on 02/28/2020 and well I passed the date without ever realizing it and just recently I received a note from the court to show up on the 30th. I’d like to avoid showing up by calling the court tomorrow and trying to get it extended is there anything I can say to confirm that I get this extension?
