Outdoorsy activities near Houston?

Planning on moving to Houston (probably end up in either Pearland, Richmond or League City) by the end of next year and was wondering what sort of outdoor activities that Houston offers? I’m from Northern Virginia and pretty into exploring the outdoor stuff. I understand Houston and the surrounding areas offer tons of water/fishing activities but was wondering if there are anything else. Thanks!
