Our offense is gonna be awesome.
At least it seems that way on paper. I'm still sad about the Hop trade, as I'm sure the rest of you are, but I think I'm beginning to see the bigger picture that BOB is intending.
Our receiving corp (core?) is still incredibly deep and filled with talent. Kenny Stills, Randall Cobb, Will Fuller, and now Brandin Cooks have all proven themselves to be productive in the NFL. If they can all stay mostly healthy throughout the year Watson will have a plethora of targets down the field. I am curious to see where this leaves Coutee, especially with DeAndre Carter having signed an extension. I feel like we normally carry only 5 receivers, so with Carter and the other 4 that leaves Coutee out.
Now our tightend groups appears to be very interesting as well. Starting off I am glad that we are bringing Fells back. Hopefully he will continue to he a dependable target for Watson in the future. Now behind Fells we have Akins, Thomas, and Warring. The Jordan Bro's have both shown promise (although Thomas was injured a lot last year) and I recall Warring having a lot of hype before having to be placed on IR. However I feel like one of these three guys will end up missing the final roster, and it'll be interesting to see who gets cut.
Now it seems like this year we're going to get to see Johnson and Johnson duo at running back this year. I feel like having these two guys opens up our offense so much because not only are they threats to run, they can both catch the football just as well. Does anyone remember how good our offense would be whenever we would have Duke Johnson out there running routes more often? It was like night and day, now we have two of those guys. It could be awesome.
The thing I'm most worried about on this offense in injuries. A lot of the guys we have now have a history of the injury bug. Hopefully this can be the year we figure out strength and conditioning.
