Operating under the "El Real Tex-Mex" name: a weird taco shop downtown, and a weird t-shirt store online
I saw "El Real" in the tunnels today and thought, whoa, has someone revived one of my favorite restaurants, the old-school tex-mex concept by Bryan Caswell?
The answer is no. It's a tiny taco place that is using the same name and logo as the old Montrose restaurant.
Searching for articles that might explain what was going on (which turned up nothing about the new restaurant), I then discovered this cute little affront to the restaurant's legacy, using yet again the same name and logo:
This place shares an address with a City Trends next to a Family Dollar on the northwest side.
A quick glance at the USPTO doesn't turn up any relevant trademarks, and of course the original enterprise is long gone, so it's possible this is all fair game. But what a shame.
