Not to stereotype, but when/why did the drivers in Chinatown get so bad?!?
I actually went to high school in the area (Strake) so I spent a few years driving in the neighborhood every day 10 years ago…I never noticed a problem back then. But the last few times I’ve visited over the past few months, I’ve witnessed a very noticeable increase in dangerous driving methods!! It’s literal madness over there, like all parking lots are as crazy as Christmas Eve at the galleria. People are switching lanes without looking first or signaling and people are making u-turns at mediums illegally and without any thought to the drivers coming from the other direction. On 2 different occasions yesterday, I had to start backing up quickly because the car in front of me started randomly backing up into me! I kid you not lol.
I’m not sure what is causing this difference. I know the area always had a lot of immigrants from countries with lax driving laws, but it’s never been this bad. I guess the area is just more populated now??
In conclusion, BE CAREFUL next time you drive in Chinatown. You really need to drive defensively over there!
