Northeast area, Harris County : Thoughts?

Currently offered a job in that area. How is the neighbourhood?

Can a young family be able to walk about and enjoy the parks and recreation in the area? Or do we need live in the suburbs ie Sugar Land.

If so, how long is a less then an hour drive to work? Any inconvenience, pros and cons?
