Non-Touristy Spots to Explore

Hi All,

Tried searching but wasn’t getting much results. I’ll be visiting Houston again here (second time), and wanting to hear from you locals what spots to explore that’s outside of Houston. My first visit was exploring Houston itself and trying a lot of your great food spots so want to see if there’s anything worth driving out to.

I’m into hiking and am a hobby photographer if this helps. Amusement parks are not really to my liking since the thought of being in line under a hot sun is not my cup of tea.
