No, there isn’t some conspiracy where fans are reposting their own negative takes about our offensive coordinator from other communities. It’s genuinely that bad out there.
Denial is widely considered the first stage of grief, and there’s been plenty of that around here so far:
The first wave of denial came in the offseason, when many convinced themselves that practically ignoring an obviously underperforming offensive line was somehow part of the plan.
The second came after the 0-3 start, explained away as just “tough breaks” against good teams.
The third arrived when our offense finally showed signs of life, but only against some of the league’s worst defenses, and fans took it as proof that the first two denials were justified.
After Monday Night Football this week it's pretty clear where things really stand. I get some of still want to hold on to hope, but at some point, denial stops being hope. It just becomes avoiding the truth.
