No Passports appointment available in Houston?

Does anyone know what's going on with passport applications? I checked multiple locations for post offices and libraries in Houston but all dates from this month to early May are unavailable. My friend found only 1 day available in Dallas for 1 location but it's gone now. I need to book one ASAP.
