NJ to Houston: Seeking Advice to Make the Transition Easier for My Wife!

Hey Houstonians,

I'm a Houston native (it's been 6-7 years since I last lived in Hou), but I relocated to New Jersey last year. My wife, a proud North Jersey native, and I are planning to move to Houston this year due to cost of living (student loans, difficult house market, etc.) and to be closer to my family. It's a big step for my wife and she is leaving behind her parents and sibling. But we're hopeful. Eventually, we hope to convince her parents to join us in Texas and her siblings are already planning their move. She's no stranger to Houston's notorious heat and humidity (we got married in Hou last summer) and I know we probably won't get used to it.

What should I show my wife in Houston to make the transition easier? What made you fall in love with this place? Open to any recommendations/advice like places to eat, outdoor or indoor areas/activities, lovely suburbs, etc.
