Newly formed bank names Houston region president after $66B merger
Charlotte, North Carolina-based Truist Financial Corp. (NYSE: TFC), formed from the massive merger between BB&T Corp. and SunTrust Banks Inc., has named its top Houston leader.
Truist named Bill Toomey as its regional president for Houston and Central Texas, the bank announced Dec. 10. The $66 billion merger between BB&T and SunTrust — the year’s largest bank merger — closed at the end of Dec. 6. Shareholders at each bank approved the deal in August.
