Newbie with no experience offering hands to farmers with livestock

I am F, 35 and live in SW Houston. I grew up in a relatively small city in a rural state. I would always smell and see livestock afar all my life, but never got around to interact with them. I love animals especially livestock. On my birthdays and other special occasions, I would always look for petting zoos so I can spend time with domesticated animals raised in an agricultural setting. I enjoy learning everything about them and they bring me a lot of joy.

I am hoping to find a farmer or two who is patient and understanding that I have absolutely no experience in farming. I am more than willing to volunteer and help around on the farm. I expect nothing else than your knowledge in return. I am free on weekends.

I read that to start a new hobby or interest, one has to possess the ability to use one's own initiative. So here I am. I am very committed and a fast learner. I am not a wishy washy person and I am aware of all the hard work it requires.

I am happy to answer any of your questions. I would prefer to meet up over a cup of tea/coffee or a meal first to get to know you better before driving to your farm for safety reasons.
