New to the area

Hello!

Im moving to Houston in the next few days. What are some areas to avoid, since everyone from where I live tells me Houston is Dangerous.

However, from everything I’ve seen it looks beautiful and has me excited. What are authentic BBQ places? What dog parks is there? Is there a nice Huskies community? For safety, is it really dangerous how people mention it?
