New to Houston, the driving here is something I’ll need to learn.

I’m coming from the west coast, where we don’t see speeds on the highway higher than 30mph. I was accustomed to drivers safely zipper merging, signaling, all that good stuff. I’m a naturally aggressive driver because I’m always on the defensive thinking the other drivers are ready to total my car, but Houston has been something else.

Just today doing a turn at an intersection a large white Mercedes SUV entered my lane with no blinkers or any sort of yielding as if my vehicle did not even exist and I was kind of shocked that even after I dodged them they managed to still honk at me.

Can anyone give me any advice or pointers on how to navigate this no mans land?
