New Texans fan here. Is this a good reason to support the Texans?

Im from El Paso so we dont have any major league teams. I like the NFL but i have always been a neutral with no team. I want to start supporting a team. I have chosen to support Texan teams that use the Texas brand, such as the Houston Texans and the Texas Rangers, that way i will at least feel like im supporting my local team cause im from Texas, what do you think, is tgis a good way of choosing a team?
